Video Remote lets you control the video in a browser tab from your phone. This page describes what the extension and the server at video-remote.fly.dev do with that information.
What is sent
When you open the extension and create a remote, your computer sends this to the server:
- a session identifier, and a secret that shows this computer owns the session;
- the playback state: whether the video is playing, the current time, the duration, the volume, and whether the sound is off;
- the full address of the tab. The phone never receives this address. Only the password-protected admin page can show it.
The phone receives the playback state and sends commands: play, pause, volume, and seek. The server also sees the IP address of each connection, so it can limit how many sessions one network opens.
How long it is kept
Sessions stay in the server’s memory. A session ends when you stop it, after three hours without use, or after ten minutes if the computer never connects. Nothing is written to a database. The data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
Permissions
The extension does nothing until you open it on a tab. It then asks Chrome for access to that tab, so it can find the video and control it. If the player is inside a frame from another site, Chrome asks before the extension can see that frame. Without that extra permission, the extension contacts only video-remote.fly.dev.

Що надсилається
Коли ви відкриваєте розширення і створюєте пульт, комп’ютер надсилає на сервер:
- ідентифікатор сесії і секрет, який підтверджує, що цей комп’ютер нею володіє;
- стан відтворення: чи йде відео, поточний час, тривалість, гучність і чи вимкнено звук;
- повну адресу вкладки. Телефон її не отримує. Її показує лише захищена паролем сторінка адміністратора.
Телефон отримує стан відтворення і надсилає команди: відтворення, пауза, гучність, перемотування. Сервер також бачить IP-адресу кожного з’єднання, щоб обмежити кількість сесій з однієї мережі.
Скільки це зберігається
Сесії тримаються в пам’яті сервера. Сесія завершується, коли ви її зупиняєте, після трьох годин без використання або через десять хвилин, якщо комп’ютер так і не підключився. У базу даних нічого не записується. Дані не продаються і не використовуються для реклами.
Дозволи
Розширення нічого не робить, доки ви не відкриєте його на вкладці. Тоді воно просить у Chrome доступ до цієї вкладки, щоб знайти відео і керувати ним. Якщо плеєр відкритий у фреймі з іншого сайту, Chrome спитає дозвіл, перш ніж розширення побачить цей фрейм. Без цього дозволу розширення звертається лише до video-remote.fly.dev.
